Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is an Association of the Catholic Laity under the patronage of Mary, Mediatrix of all Graces. Membership is open to men and women, married and single, and to boys and girls. Membership is called ‘Active’ when a person takes on the obligation of the weekly meeting of a Praesidium (local branch) and of the weekly work assigned. Membership is called `Auxiliary’ when a person undertakes to give the Legion the assistance of prayer, which includes the daily recitation of the Rosary. There are two degrees of auxiliary membership, one for priests and religious and the other for the laity.
