The diocesan approach to the NEW EVANGELISATION is to see it both as a Reaching in, to the deep roots of the Faith and a Reaching out to Others.
As followers of the Lord in the Catholic household of the faith, we are all invited to explore those roots of that faith both for ourselves and for others. Doing so will surely nourish our love of the faith and encourage us to live it fully.
It will also ‘push us’ to find new ways to share that faith with those around us in our daily lives. As the Lord in his great ‘missionary’ discourse said: You have received freely; give freely (Matthew 10:8).
It is hoped that in this exploration and in your desire for others to come to know the Lord, you will find the material offered in 2017/8 helpful to you both spiritually and doctrinally.

The Diocesan Pastoral and Catechetical theme for 2018 is:
THE EUCHARISTIC HEART OF THE PARISH
In preparation for the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Congress will will be held in Liverpool in September, the theme of this Diocesan Formation Programme for 2018 is the Eucharist.
In the very first document of the Vatican Council (SC #10), we read:
“The liturgy is the summit toward which
the activity of the Church is directed… the font from which all her power flows”
The Eucharist is at the heart of the liturgy and can truly be, for each one of us, both the summit and the source of everything we do not, only in our personal lives but also in our parish and in reaching out to others.
To help us rediscover this, Bishop Mark has designated the pastoral and catechetical theme for the year as:
The Eucharistic Heart of the Parish
All of the activities offered by the diocese will, therefore, reflect this theme. They will hopefully help us prepare for the Pilgrimage and Congress, even if we are not able to attend it in Liverpool.
The information given below is also available in a leaflet format .
