Year of the Word 2020

The theme for this year’s Programme of Formation follows the one proposed by the Bishops of England and Wales who have dedicated 2020 as a Year of the Word. To help us benefit from this, the National Organising Team has drawn up a range of events, activities and resources which you can access on the bespoke website: http://www.cbcew.org.uk/home/events/the-god-who-speaks/.

In union with his brother Bishops, Bishop Mark encourages us to celebrate, live and share the word of God in a more conscious way over the coming year. This is an opportunity to enrich our current practices in the Church and develop new ways of responding to ‘the God who speaks’ to us in Scripture.

As a complement to events organised at the local level in parishes and MPAs, several activities will be offered at different venues around the diocese over the coming months. The God Who Speaks – The Year of the Word 2020  Lent Talks: Four Foundational Reflections on Scripture

Times are 6.30pm arrivals for a 7pm – 8.30pm talk in the evening. On Saturdays at Shrewsbury Cathedral it’s 10.30am arrivals for an 11am – 12.30pm talk.
