Simon Caldwell is a freelance journalist and public relations consultant who has spent more than 20 years working in the national, religious and regional press, including six years as the News Editor of The Catholic Herald and more than a decade on the foreign desk of The Daily Mail.
He has written hundreds of news articles and features for a range of national publications, including The Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph, The Times, The Sunday Times, The Independent, The Sun, The Daily Mirror, The Observer, The Spectator, The Racing Post, The London Evening Standard, The Catholic Herald, The Catholic Times, The Universe, The Jewish Chronicle, The Church times and The Methodist Recorder. He has also written for publications overseas, including newspapers and magazines in the United States, Germany and Ireland.
He is responsible for the media work undertaken by the Diocese of Shrewsbury (with the exception of safeguarding), whether it involves drafting press releases on behalf of the Bishop and the diocese, briefing journalists about breaking stories, managing our website on a daily basis and editing the Shrewsbury Catholic Voice, the diocesan quarterly magazine.
