The Parish of St Clare’s in the Lache, Chester (parish priest Fr Martin Onuoha) has established a regular Sunday Sung Latin Mass at 11.15. All the Proper (introit, offertory and communion antiphons) and the Ordinary (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei) are sung in Gregorian chant led by a small choir. Most of the rest of the Novus Ordo Mass is in English. It is hoped that this new venture, which is very much in the spirit of the Holy Father’s writings on the liturgy, will serve both the parish and others in the Diocese.
