Priest seeks sponsors for bike ride

Father Michael Morton, the parish priest of St Winefride’s Church, Sandbach, Cheshire, is looking for sponsors who will support his bike ride for the Young Christian Workers International Congress 2012.

Father Morton (pictured) and Jerome Lalley, both former YCW members, will make a sponsored cycle-ride from Sandbach in south Cheshire to Stafford and back on 15th and 16th February.

People are being invited to sponsor them via stw_sandbach@btinternet.com or donate on the Adjuvo! site – adjuvo.org.uk.

The Young Christian Workers movement in England and Wales will host the International Congress of YCW at Alton Castle, near Alton Towers in Staffordshire.

This event takes place every four years, and delegates from over 40 countries come together for two weeks.

Their work will include a reflection on the economic and working realities of young people with the aim of preparing young leaders to graduate – to enter the adult world and make a contribution.

Preparations for the Congress, which will be held from late August until early September, are well under way. If you can help in any way: with liturgy, welcoming, free time, translation or just general assistance, please contact Anna at anna@ycwimpact.com
