New Bishop

Our New Bishop, Monsignor Mark Davies, was ordained by Bishop Brian on Monday 22nd February at St Anthony's, Wythenshawe. The ceremony was celebrated in the presence of the Apostolic Nuncio, many of the Archbishops and Bishops of England and Wales, together with Ecumenical and Civic representatives.  There were large numbers from our Diocesan parishes along with many visitors from the Diocese of Salford. On behalf of us all associated with the Diocese of Shrewsbury we offer to Bishop Mark our warmest congratulations. We hope and pray that he will settle down readily and with the assurance that he is amongst friends. That was very much the sentiment of his few words towards the end of the Mass of Ordination on the feast of the Chair of St Peter.

Bishop Mark will be living in the Lymm area of the Diocese shortly and will serve as Bishop Brian's Assistant until his retirement.
