The Justice & Peace Commission for Shrewsbury Diocese exists to ‘promote justice and peace in the world in the light of the Gospel and Catholic Social Teaching’.
We work at a diocesan level, and through local groups, to discover ways of living out gospel values in today’s world. We address such issues as social justice, peace and disarmament, human rights and ecological concerns. We campaign and lobby on these themes as well as our work of awareness-raising.
We work closely with CAFOD and many other social justice organisations, and cooperate with people of other denominations and faiths.
We work in conjunction with the Liverpool J&P Commission to produce a quarterly magazine MouthPeace and a quarterly newsletter Quick News Network. We organise conferences and workshops, public meetings and opportunities for networking. The Diocesan Coordinator for J&P can offer help and advice.
