How to report a concern
If you have an immediate concern that a child or adult at risk is in danger, call 999. For all other safeguarding concerns relating to the Catholic Church in our diocese, contact Andrew O’Brien, the diocesan Safeguarding Coordinator. You can also speak to your parish priest or your Parish Safeguarding Representative.
What we do
The Safeguarding team works to make the home and family of the Church the safest place for children and adults at risk. We operate within the eight National Safeguarding Standards set by the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency. We support a network of volunteer Parish Safeguarding Representatives in every parish. The Diocesan Safeguarding Sub-Committee, chaired by a Lay Safeguarding Trustee, has strategic oversight and reports to the Board of Trustees.
