What we do

The Safeguarding team works to make the home and family of the Church the safest place for children and adults at risk. We operate within the eight National Safeguarding Standards set by the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency. We support a network of volunteer Parish Safeguarding Representatives in every parish. The Diocesan Safeguarding Sub-Committee, chaired by a Lay Safeguarding Trustee, has strategic oversight and reports to the Board of Trustees.

"Safeguarding is a task and commitment to which every member of the Church is called. Safeguarding is part of proclaiming the Gospel."
