Bishop Mark Davies is the eleventh Bishop of Shrewsbury. Pope Benedict XVI appointed him in December 2009 and he succeeded to the See of Shrewsbury on 1 October 2010. From his Cathedra in Shrewsbury Cathedral he preaches, teaches, and celebrates the sacraments for the whole diocese.

The Curia is the Bishop’s working office, the body of priests and lay staff who help him oversee the daily life of the diocese. Two Vicars General share that work directly with him: Canon Jonathan Brandon and Canon Michael Gannon. Canon David Roberts serves as Episcopal Vicar to the Education Department and as Director of Schools. The Bishop is the President of the Board of Trustees, which oversees the property, finances and lawful administration of the diocese. Trustees include senior clergy and experienced lay members drawn from across the diocese.
The Shrewsbury Roman Catholic Diocesan Trust is the legal entity through which the diocese acts. Annual accounts and the latest trustees’ report are filed with the Charity Commission and are available on request from the Curial Offices.
