What the role involves

Parish Gift Aid Organisers are the volunteers who keep parish giving working at the local level. The Planned Giving Office at the Curial Offices supports you with templates, claim submissions and queries from donors.

Forms and templates

The Planned Giving Office provides:

Email pg@dioceseofshrewsbury.org for the latest versions. Do not use old templates that you may have on file from previous years, because HMRC requires specific wording.

Quarterly claim deadlines

The Diocese submits Gift Aid claims to HMRC quarterly. Your parish figures need to be with the Planned Giving Office by the agreed cut-off each quarter. Get this date from the Office at the start of the financial year and put it in your calendar.

Training and support

The Planned Giving Office can run a session for new Gift Aid Organisers, either at the Curial Offices or at your parish. They can also troubleshoot any HMRC query you receive.
